I have always had a really bad habit of wanting circumstances to be perfect before trying anything - waiting until I had a big enough house to throw a party, because after all where will everyone sit? Putting off starting a family until I had enough money saved up or waiting until I lose that extra five pounds to buy that great skirt. Well, you get the picture. I realized a few years ago that I was missing out on the adventure by not taking the chance that everything would just work out all right!

When you want everything to be “just right” you really set yourself up for a lot of disappointment. Life has a way of happening and if you expect things to be wonderful just because you waited for the right moment, you may find yourself in the middle of a big “why did I shave my legs for this” let down.

Sometimes the best way to plan life is just to go for it, now don’t get me wrong somethings need to be mapped out a little, but if you find yourself like I used to be, always waiting for the planets to be in alignment, and the earth to be rotating counter clockwise on it’s axis then maybe it’s time for you to throw a little caution to the wind.

Looking back now, I think most of my “hesitation” in life had more to do with fear of failure than with organization. After all, if you never try you never have to be disappointed. But sometimes the greatest moments of life come out of the biggest flops!

So get out there and do something spontaneous this week, stop waiting. Life is for living, not for watching. Nothing will ever be perfect but you can still enjoy the ride. Don’t forget you can’t drive a parked car!
