What I See
On my blog I talk a lot about design.
How I come to the conclusion of furniture placement, textiles, accessories and art.
Design is so much more than that.
It's about our lives.
As I look back over my life...

I see a girl who felt like she never fit, was too skinny, hair too curly.

She would get lost looking at herself in a mirror and pretend that she was another person.
We didn't have much money and there weren't trips to the mall to buy new things.
Boys treating me bad because I was the "good girl."
Feeling like the crab in the bucket that was trying to escape but all the other crabs were pulling me down.

BUT...
Out of my pain, I started teaching a class for women who were hurting.
I saw my experiences helping them out of that "crab in the bucket" syndrome.

Out of chaos... beauty can come.
You see, I love older homes.

They have a story.
They have been through the good and the bad.
I see potential in them and the beauty they hold.
I can choose to leave an older home in the condition it is in, or I can create loveliness.
I choose to make beautiful spaces.

In the design of my life the threads of all my experiences have lead me to be the person I am today.

You get to choose.
You get to create.
You are the Designer.
